Allinto welcomes its first NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coach and is now supporting people with psychosocial disability through their recovery journey.
Allinto introduced the service for people with a primary diagnosis and relevant NDIS funding to create a recovery plan which helps them reach their goals and live a good life.
Allinto Chief Executive Officer, Karen Hale-Robertson is delighted to better support clients with psychosocial disabilities.
“At Allinto we understand that psychosocial disability can be episodic so it is essential that our Recovery Coaches ensure people are still appropriately supported during the highs and lows they may experience,” Karen said.
“I’m pleased that we will soon be expanding further to provide Recovery Coaching services in Melbourne and Rockhampton, helping even more people in the community,” she said.
Recovery Coaches have either a lived or learned experience of mental illness, enabling them to offer a unique perspective to help the person on their recovery journey.
Allinto Psychosocial Recovery Coach, Sandi, first joined the Allinto team in October 2023. Sandi is both an experienced Support Coordinator and Psychosocial Recovery Coach.
Sandi especially enjoys the recovery coach role, “as you get to go on the journey to recovery with your participant and celebrate with them as they achieve their goals. Assisting others each day gives me the benefit of real job satisfaction.”
“From a very young age, I’ve had a passion for helping those in need. My role now, as mum to a son with special needs, only adds to my passion of wanting to help others,” She said.
Sandi works with recovery coaching and support coordination participants in both Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. She feels there are some real similarities between recovery coaching and support coordination, “however recovery coaching has a bigger focus on empowering and skill building.”
